Nothing wakes up a room like Spring.  At the Main Street Cotton Shop, we have new spring fabric collections, patterns, books and gifts to help you get in the swing of Spring.  Add a touch of April to your home with a Lily Pond runner from the Fancy Free book.  Make a quick Patchwork tablecloth to accent the bedside table, add a splash of color with a few Pillow Poppin' Flowers on the bed and Spring will burst forth a fresh new look. 

This weekend is our annual Celebrate Spring brunch in Hutchinson.  With that, out comes Lynette's new Parade Day fabric collection, a grand array of Stars and Stripes!  Three of Thimbleberries all time favorites are shown here; Queen in a Day, Village Patchwork and Holiday Stars redone in this fun, whimsical group. The Campfire Throw is done in the Parade Day flannel group to create a cozy summer throw.  Pack-a-Picnic pattern is new and showcases the toile print that is a must have.  The whole collection consists of 21 cotton prints, including the signature stars and stripes, and the flannel line has a total of 9 prints.

Two new patterns that have arrived are the Scrap Patch Paddlewheel and Very Vintage 9-Patch.  Scrap Patch Paddlewheel is a scrapaholics dream, a perfect quilt to use up your stash.  For those of you who don't have a stash, you're in luck, we have a kit for you.  Very Vintage 9 Patch uses a combination of piecing and coloring ... yup, coloring!  Color in the images with crayons for a fun and different technique.  One of our customers took the vintage panel to another level and needle-punched it.  It turned out great and she has a lasting framed print to keep for years.

The second quarter collection of Vintage Stitches came in and looks great.  We are so pleased to hear the wonderful comments about this years Thimbleberries Club.  If you are unable to join where you live, give us a call so you too can make the Vintage Stitches quilt.

Nothing says Spring like daffodils, tulips and hyacinth.  The Poetry collection definitely speaks to Spring.  A soft palette of sky blue, petal pink and daffodil yellow combine into a fresh springtime look.  We did a log cabin lap quilt using many of the prints for the logs and the beautiful garden floral for the outer border.  We will be showcasing that quilt in our May newsletter.  Rites of Spring is another pretty group that has a very clean country look.  The signature floral and plum accents used in the English Rose quilt add a fun twist to the collection that will give a spark to your home decorating.

We continue to get requests for new wool projects.  Fruits and Berries and Sunflowers in Bloom have been added to our wool kits.  The Sunflower Runner can fit any style home any time of year while the Fruits and Berries adds a nice touch to this serving tray.

As the air warms and the spring rains wash away the leftover of winter, I get a little antsy to be outside.  It will be awhile before I can get in the garden, but it's a perfect time to go antiquing.  Vintage linens and quilts are always a draw for me.  A few picnic tins stacked, filled with flowers and a favorite linen tucked in, makes a fresh statement by the front entryway or even in the laundry room.  Two new books, Vintage Linens and Vintage Home, include a fabulous collection of heirloom linens.  Mixed in the book are charming designs from the 30's and 40's with clever sayings and valuable historical information.  Both books will give you great ideas to use your vintage linens.
