The Main Street Cotton Shop News - April, 2007

Let the fresh palette of springtime inspire you to freshen your home this month.  With all the new fabric collections, it will be easy to put a little spring in your home.

Take time to clean out the cupboards to display and enjoy some of your favorite collectibles like fiesta ware.  Thimbleberries newest fabric group, Sangria Sunset, is perfect for this.  Sangria Splash will make any table come alive, topped with a fiesta ware pitcher filled with fresh flowers.  Sangria Hourglass throw adds a festive, light touch to the living room.  Buy a few extra yards of the pansy fabric to make napkins for a spring luncheon. It's not too early to think of Mother's Day - a bundle of Sangria Sunset fabrics wrapped up will make any quilter smile.

Let the sunshine in with our Cottage Check quilt.  We used the Sunshine fabric collection to make this fresh, airy bed quilt.  Included in the kit is the Cottagewood Book, a $19 value, FREE!  Don't forget to add fabric for the pillow shams to complete the look.  The yellow and blue plaid fabric would make a great dust ruffle or window treatment.

Tiddley Winks is like a breath of fresh air - fun and bright.  Our featured quilt is the Pinwheel Point from Beginners Luck book.  Brown and pink are two of the hottest colors this spring; make sure you get it while it is available.

Simply Spring and Welcome to the Lake are two quick and easy wallhangings.  How nice to be greeted by the back door with this delightful wallhanging, or better yet, a great welcome home gift. You'll enjoy making them and your neighbors will be glad you did.

Last month, we mentioned the Mostly Table Runners Three book - so we made the Could't be Easier Table Runner in Garden Graphics fabric. It truly couldn't be easier.  We have it kitted and ready to go for only $19.95 (pattern not included). Garden Graphics is such a great decorator line, all it takes is a small change to brighten any room and this line is perfect for that.  Making Your House a Home showcases the awning stripe and blue floral  fabric  in the shower curtain that gives you an upscale look without the high decorator price.

Darlene Zimmerman is a well-known author and designer that specializes in 30's era fabrics. Darlene has written a wonderful new book called, Quilting, the Complete Guide.  Her techniques, hints and help go beyond the 30's and are extremely helpful for any level of quilter.  Another excellent book we just received is the Applique and Beyond. We often hear "Oh, I don't do applique", but you will after you read and learn the wonderful techniques in this book. It will give you the confidence to do beautiful applique.

Our new Spring catalog is now available.  If you haven't received it, you can call for a copy.  One of the new items is the Spring Fling Buck Bundle Collector, 25 - 10" squares of assorted soft and airy fabrics that remind you of a spring rain.

The Main Street Cotton Shop is known for it's great variety of clubs.  We are always adding to the list and Main Street Mixers Club  is a new one for you!  Six different options to join make it easy to find one to suit your taste.  Once a month, we will automatically send you six fat quarters or half yards, based on the theme you choose.  Comforts & Cozy, Beyond Beige, Anything Goes and more, only $13.95 per month, and shipping is only $2.99.  Information will be coming soon on our new Oh Baby club, featuring the Wiggles and Giggles fabric. Another great club that you need to sign up for now is the Countdown to Christmas 2007.  I know it seems like we're a little ahead of ourselves, but that's the good part.  No need to feel rushed next fall, starting in July, we will send you a project each month through December.  The projects vary in size and price.  The club is based on the Countdown to Christmas 2007 book, which will be available mid-May.  If you sign up by July 1, you will receive in August a bonus gift book pack, a $100 value, absolutely FREE, just for signing up early.

Remember to check out our website regularly for fabric and book specials. Don't forget to call and sign up for the new clubs today.
