Although winter is still here, Thimbleberries new book, Fancy Free, brightens our day with a touch of Spring. Fancy Free fabrics are so beautiful and now we have this great book to use the fabrics. I especially like the cover quilt, Ruffled Floral Comforter. The narrow ruffle edge gives it a unique look. Layer quilts at the foot of the bed, add the Pillow Poppin' Flowers sham and step back to see the statement your room will make. If time is of the essence, we have the clear deal for you. The Queen Size Comforter is quick - quick - quick. The pre-printed 113" wide fabric from the Fancy Free collection is available in two colors. The gold and the blue are equally as pretty. Use this quilt motif to complete a bedroom ensemble in a day.
Wool kits are just a natural this time of the year. They're fun to work with, easy to take along anywhere and small enough to finish quickly. We took the Flower Basket kit and turned it into this great looking pillow - a decorative accent for the living room or the bedroom. If you haven't worked with wool, start today. The hand-dyed wool colors are just awesome. |

| Thimbleberries Club 2006 has begun and what a great start. The Vintage Stitches fabric appeals to every age. There's still time to join our club, call for information. As another suggestion for using the Vintage Stitches panels, we embroidered the blocks with several colors of perle cotton and framed them. | ||

| Jean Ogle, my 93-year-young employee (she has worked for me for 24 years) does all our hand work - what an incredible job! These framed stitcheries will be lasting treasures for me. How about doing these for your family or a special friend - gifts you can start today. For those that don't enjoy stitching, try using crayons to fill in the images. In my Thimbleberries Club meeting last month, everyone colored in their block for a fast-finished project. | ||

Another quick gift idea is one Lynette shared with me last week. She took the Circle of Love stencil, used our Miracle Chalk Pouncer and transferred the design to the wrong side of one of her Thimbleberries fabrics. She then embroidered the design and framed it. Just another great way to use your notions again and a quick piece of artwork. February is a busy month at the Main Street Cotton Shop. If you're in the area, stop in February 5th for our Super Bowl Sunday. Both stores are offering great in-store specials that day and a cup of soup to warm you up. For those that cannot come to either of our shops, we have a February deal for you. Thimbleberries winter collection of thread is on sale for only $16.95, regularly $21.00. With only 28 days in February, the month goes quickly. Don't forget about all our specials and remember to sign up for any of our great Clubs! |
