The Main Street Cotton Shop News - January, 2005

This year at the Main Street Cotton Shop, we have decided to focus on a quilting theme and make 2005 into a family affair.  Whether it’s your immediate family, blended family, church family or family of friends, we all have a family and know someone that is special in our lives.  With the beginning of a new year, we immediately start to think how can I get organized, what changes do I need to make and this is the year I am going to simplify my life.  Well, each month we will help you by reminding you of the importance of family and how quilting is a big part of family life.

For the new Thimbleberries Club 2005, Lynette has titled it “Circle of Love - Quilters Make Memories”.  As the year goes along, she will introduce you to ”extra” projects using the Quilt Club 2005 fabrics to make along with the Sunrise and Sunset quilts that are part of this years club. There is still time to join our Thimbleberries Club.  This year, the fee is only $19.95 per month plus shipping.  At the end of the year, you will have two quilts completed.  Don’t wait, sign up today.
As I am writing this newsletter, the temperature has dipped down to –14 degrees.  I love Minnesota and winter is beautiful, but even that is too cold.  Fortunately, we have lots of flannel quilts to wrap up in.  Our featured quilt this month is the Hopscotch Quilt from the Beginners Luck book done in flannel fabrics.  We always go back to the Beginners Luck book because the projects are easy and good looking  This time we backed the quilt in a fun theme fabric and have included the backing in the kit  price.  The kit regularly sells for $104.95 and for the month of January is $69.95  (book not included).

The newest collection of fabrics to arrive from Thimbleberries is the Cottagewood line along with the Garden Glory Pattern and kit.  This collection is a beautiful spring line with a large floral bouquet that reflects a simpler time.

Mostly Cozy is another book that we just keep using, with fast and fun projects to do. The Cozy Cover quilt is one that we did using the Dude Ranch fabrics for the center, but we changed the outer border to an awesome blue, green and red buffalo plaid.  If you’re looking for something a little on the nostalgic side for a child, this is the one.  Another new children’s quilt book is the Quick Quilts for Kids.  Twenty colorful projects for babies and children with great colored pictures and diagrams.

The new Calendar Table Toppers book by Thimbleberries has arrived to usher in a year of twelve distinctive table toppers plus decorative accessories.  Lily Runner, Star Table Square and Patchwork Heart Tablecloth are just a few of the projects in the book.  Because we feel this is such a great workbook, we have formed a Calendar Table Toppers Club.  The club will begin in March.  Each month, you will be shipped a project to complete from the book.  To help you get started, during the month of January, on-line orders for the Calendar Table Toppers book will be $18.00. That’s a $5.00 savings. The patterns will not be included in the kits.  Keeping in mind the family, start now for a year of toppers to share with your family.  As an extra bonus for joining the Calendar Table Toppers Club in January (with shipping beginning in March), we will include the backing for your projects FREE.

As always, we are constantly receiving new fabrics, books and patterns. Check out our website for the newest and latest.  Give us a call now at 800-624-4001 to join Thimbleberries Club 2005 or Calendar Table Toppers Club.
