The Main Street Cotton Shop News - January, 2006

January is traditionally a month with fresh and new beginnings.  We all put a lot of thought and time into making resolutions for the year ahead.  This is the year we are going to organize the photos, lose the extra holiday pounds or redecorate the living room.

Fancy Free fabric collection is our newest group of fabrics with all the prints and colors you need to redo.  Whether you have a living room, dining room, bedroom or kitchen that you would like to liven up, there's a color for you.  Just like the calendar with a fresh beginning, Fancy Free has a fresh look.  Pick your favorite color and use it as an accent in your quilt or add it to the trim of the kitchen curtains.  I was once told that every room should have a touch of red.  Here's your chance to add a beautiful red floral as the accent in your home.  Fancy Basket wall hanging certainly will fit any style or size room with its 3 color options for you to choose from.

January is the beginning of our new Thimbleberries Club 2006.  We would love to have you join our club and share all the hints and helps that Lynette offers throughout the year.  The 1st Quarter Vintage Stitches fabric includes the designer panel for making each block.  By the end of 2006, you will have completed the top and a pieced back using the Vintage Stitches blocks.  Call, email us or check out clubs online.  Join us today for the Thimbleberries Club 2006.

A fabulous new book called You're Invited just became available.   The book includes 12 major projects plus an assortment of fun party ideas and recipes.  For those of you currently in our Calendar Table Toppers Club, you will automatically rollover to this club in March.  Each month, a project will be shipped to you. To help you get started during the month of January, on-line orders for the You're Invited book will be $18, a $5 saving off the regular price of $23.  The pattern will not be included in the kits, so now is a great time to buy the book.  BONUS!!  All January sign ups will receive FREE SHIPPING all year for the kit!  The Club begins in March.

Do you need a fast, quick and easy project?  Do you know someone that would like to get started quilting?  Spice is Nice and Pinwheel Twist are the Jiffy Quilts that can be sewn in a weekend or a couple of evenings.  Maybe January is a good time to get together for a weekend sewing retreat to teach a friend or daughter how fun and easy quilting can be.  A new product that helps to make finishing your quilt easier is the Miracle Chalk.  I demonstrated this at Thimbleberries Club last month and everyone agreed - it's a miracle!  Swipe the chalk pad across your quilt stencil, stitch your quilt (by hand or machine), and press with a hot iron.  The miracle is two fold - the chalk doesn't rub off as you work and it disappears with a hot iron after you are done quilting.  There is also a miracle pencil available for marking quilts.  The chalk and pencil are available only in white.

Starting this month, we will have a Limited Edition club that is awesome.

Each month, a Thimbleberries pattern, fabric for the top, and binding will be sent.  The kit is at a super special price plus you will receive a spool of the new Thimbleberries thread and a Thimbleberries stencil to coordinate with the project.  To start the year, we are featuring the Queen of Hearts table runner in deep rose tones with a small beige floral background, a $49.95 value for only $34.95.  We have a very limited number of collectible Thimbleberries patterns, so we have to limit the club to the first 50 sign-ups.  All that sign up in January will also receive 5 FREE fat quarters each month!  Don't wait, space is limited, call today.  The kits will be shipped the first full week of the month.

During a recent interview with Lynette Jensen, she shared with me some decorating tips that I think you might enjoy.  I mentioned how inviting her home seemed from the minute I walked in the door.  She said, "I have a favorite candle fragrance, marmalade spice, that I got hooked on years ago.  As a child, I remember associating a smell with a house and have done that with my own home.  The marmalade is an all season scent with a clean citrus smell that is so fresh this time of the year.  I keep a bowl of votives in the bathroom and the fragrance perfumes the air without even burning.  I often give a box of candles as a quick gift.  I wrap it up with a favorite piece of fabric - Thimbleberries of course - and tie it with a wide grosgrain ribbon."  Since my interview with Lynette, we have decided to carry this great candle.  If you need a quick winter pick-me-up, try the marmalade candles in your home.

Don't forget to sign up today for all the wonderful clubs we offer.  Every month a special package arrives just for you.
