The Main Street Cotton Shop News - March 2004

It's hard to believe that we are almost through the snowy winter months.  When March arrives, the snowdrifts are getting smaller by the day, the days are getting longer and it's becoming very clear that a new season is arriving.  With a new season comes many new items at the Main Street Cotton Shop.  The new Thimbleberries Club 2004 is on its way and the comments have been terrific.  If you are interested in joining our club, but are unable to attend our meetings, check out the website membership and join in on the fun of receiving your club project each month.  During our February meeting, Lynette Jensen stopped in to show and tell the members about some of her new patterns and fabrics.  Two of her newest patterns are here just in time for Easter and Spring.

The Daisy and House of Hearts wool patterns are a new look to the Thimbleberries collection.  RJR's new collection of wools by Charming Creations is used in the kits.  A fun project to "take along" wherever you go.  A couple of new fabric and stitchery patterns arrived this week - the Berries and Tulip projects are small and easy to do.  If you are ready to get started on some small spring projects, check out the Pint Size Traditions book.  There are many small quilts that can be completed in a day or two.  For a fresh addition to your home, I think the Sun Porch Basket or Pansy Square quilt, done in the Berry Patch fabrics, are perfect for a table, small wall space or framed as a piece of artwork.

Our featured quilt this month is Chexx Mixx.  The Chexx Mixx quilt measures 72" x 97" and is a very scrappy looking quilt.  The quilt kit is regularly prices at $119.95, and if ordered on-line during the month of March, it is only $99.95.  The pattern is in the 9 Patch Reunion book that you will need to make the quilt.

The week of March 15th through the 20th is National Quilt Week and we are having a quilt event.  Each day of the week, we will have special items on sale at terrific savings.  Both shops are hosting a free Beginner's Quilting Class on Saturday, March 20th.  Also on Saturday, we will have our National Quilt Week Saleabration.  We will have numerous items on sale at both our Redwood Falls and Hutchinson locations.  Check out our website at www.mainstreetcottonshop.com each day to cash in on the savings!  To our loyal newsletter subscribers, for every order that is placed over $25.00 on Saturday, March 20th, we will send you a FREE Thimbleberries organizer.  The organizer has a retail value of $14.95.

The Fall Favorites Top Shop Tour 2004 is officially open for registration.  Last year, approximately 380 women traveled to all nine shops via motor coach and had the time of our lives.  I invite you to join us this year for our Top Shop Tour, October 6th through the 8th.  This year, ten shops in Minnesota and Wisconsin that have been featured in American and Patchwork Quilting Sampler magazine are on the tour.  Meals, lodging, transportation and much more for three full days of fun and excitement are all included in the fee.  If you or a friend are interested, give us a call at 800.624.4001.  We will be more than happy to give you all the details and sign you up.  Space is limited, so don't wait!
With so many new products and events going on, I have a lot to do, so I best get going.  Don't forget about National Quilt Week.  Remember to check out the specials.  Our calendar is on-line for you to look at also.  Sara is adding new things to it each week!
